For MIPCOM 2017, our LA client Disney Media Distribution approached us to create a short ident to highlight the company’s responsibility for distributing all Disney content across their brands – ABC Studios, Marvel, Freeform, LucasFilm, Pixar, Disney and Disney Kids & Family. Created in motion graphics, we produced a stand-out piece, showcasing cinematic footage in a ‘flip-book’ style effect.
To design a ‘flipbook’ style ident to open and close the DMD sizzle displayed at MIPCOM 2017. We were tasked with creating a bold and cinematic logo animation, which incorporated strong, heroic footage selects to showcase the breadth and quality of Disney content across the entire brand range. We took inspiration from the Marvel logo, using the DMD logo to hold the footage selects.
- Creation of a short ident to front and tail the DMD ’Hero’ sizzle
- The ident features a large object at the centre of focus, wherein the content bursts into life with the sides of the lettering featuring the DMD content.
- We used a flipbook effect to show content rapidly into place, slowing as the camera begins to pan. As the camera pans back, we see it resolve into the DMD logo, illuminating the ground around it.
